Project: Foaid Design Studio Year: 2018 Designer: Charitaa Bagry Status: prototype development
The design was abstracted from a column in the Ranakpur Jain temple. These temples are known for their carved pillars and intricate work.
The form of the extracted element though not very traditional, is very commonly seen in temples. The focus was to retain the center and distort the sides in various angles till a different aesthetic form was achieved.
The final light prototype was constructed by extruding the segments to various lengths. The main purpose of this is to create two different and visually dynamic perspectives of the fixture.
